Room 3, Sessional Pre-School
-
Room 4, 3 – 5 year olds.
During
your child’s day at Crafts for Kids our carers take notes
on the likes, dislikes, strengths and needs of each child in care.
From this, activities are devised to assist children with their
development.
There are six main areas we look at,
- Gross
motor or large muscle movement – such as arms and legs,
- Fine
motor or small muscle movement – such as fingers, toes etc,
- Emotional
development
-
Social development
-
Language development
-
Cognitive development – thinking skills
We
incorporate many different activities ranging from arts and crafts
to trampolining to home corner play, to help the children learn
from different situations and a broad range of experiences. Your
child may believe they are only here to have fun, but the reason
why each activity has been chosen will be documented and kept for
reference. You are welcome to view any information we have regarding
your child at any time. (Due to privacy laws, a parent or guardian
can only view information pertaining to their child.)
Some of the activities will have an ‘end product’ which
the children may take home but many of the experiences are designed
for children to practise a particular skill and there may not be
a finished product to show Mum and Dad. An example of this is; puzzles,
threading with beads, block building, etc.
Imagination and Sensory Development feature highly in our curriculum
and with this we try to incorporate experiences the children may
not be exposed to at home. We ask that children be dressed in clothes
that allow them to participate in all activities, including those
which may be messy. (Please provide a change of clothes)
All of the staff at Crafts For Kids will make themselves available
to discuss your child’s day, either as a casual chat when
you are collecting your children or as a formal meeting at an agreed
time. Please do not hesitate to ask as many questions as you feel
you need to, we will endeavour to answer them all. |
